For your summer reading! New Delphi book coming soon!
I have to admit that it took me a long time. I have started writing the next part in the Hands-On Delphi book series in October 2020 right after finishing book number 2. However, the deeper I dug into the topic, the more content came up.
Today, I got a special present in my mailbox. The proof print of the next Delphi book in English language with 460+ pages!
Its title will be:
Multi-tier, cross-platform data access and visualization in grids

So, in a nutshell, you will get
- Full description of VCL grid control TAdvStringGrid:
From basic examples to get started using grids to details about their in-place editors, sorting, filters, merge, group, exporting content to PDF and Microsoft Excel… - Data-aware grid TDBAdvGrid:
Differences to the non-data-aware variant and how to use it for any usage scenario. - Followed by over 150 pages of VCL examples using grids
The biggest part of the book (over 250 pages) gives a detailed hands-on examples using databases, Web services, Web clients, VCL clients, mobile clients and cross-platform desktop clients… You will even learn how to build a Web service that offers a Web interface so you can configure its database connection and other parameters like its HTTP(S) endpoint! Also, you learn how to add monitoring to your Web service and offer diagnostic information in a dashboard!
The example will be available with full source code for download on GitHub and can easily be the starting point for your own software projects!
Stay tuned for more details in the next few days with a screenshot of the cover. Be certain that it will be released within the next 4 weeks. Your summer reading is saved…
Looking forward to it. I’ve enjoyed the first three.
