TMS WEB Core: Update on English Book and Digital Edition
English Book
At the beginning of the month, the German paperback edition of my first Delphi book about TMS WEB Core was released worldwide on Amazon.
- US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1090700822/
- DE: https://www.amazon.de/dp/1090700822/
We also announced an English version of the book as soon as possible.
Today, I can announce that the translation is complete and I am in the proof reading process. This will most likely take until the end of this month. Expect publication at the beginning of April.
Digital Edition
First, it was always my intention to have more Delphi literature on the book shelf. I love and prefer paperbacks for technical books as screenshots and code listings are not easy to browse on a digital reading device. Of course, there is still PDF which is a 1:1 copy of a page. Still, I might be old fashioned, but being able to make annotations on paper in a book feels just more natural to me than adding comments to a PDF.
However, when I made the decision to self-publish a paperback, I needed a distribution partner that would handle worldwide payments and have all the infrastructure associated with getting the book into the developers’ hands. Amazon was able to provide all that, but it also means that I do not hold the rights to publish a digital version in PDF format when there is a paperback version.
I could publish a Kindle edition, but I think an eBook is not suitable for a technical book with so many screenshots and source code. A “real” book is a better option.
I don’t know if it’s COVID-19 or what but can’t get shipment to Finland from amazon.com. I could get shipment from amazon.de, but my German isn’t so good…

Mika, you can order both the German and English version at any Amazon store. Please get in touch with Amazon if you are not certain which store is “ideal”. Belgium does not have its own store either and you can pick if you want to use .fr or .de, for example.
